Description

Artist Molly Hashimoto (American, b. 1951) encourages the preservation of America's treasured parks and wilderness areas by sharing her knowledge of painting in the wild. The two watercolors by Hashimoto chosen for this notecard folio bring to mind the words of another great champion of the American wilderness, John Muir: "When we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty." A resident of Seattle, Hashimoto teaches outdoor art seminars at Sitka Center for Art and Ecology on the Oregon coast, the North Cascades Institute in North Cascades National Park, and the Yellowstone Institute in Yellowstone National Park. Her teaching mission is to connect students with nature and cultural history through hands-on art experiences. Hashimoto's paintings of the North Cascades and Pacific Northwest have been exhibited at galleries and museums in Oregon and Washington. Contains 5 each of the following images: Moon Viewing with Bamboo, 2007 Moon Viewing with Pine, 2007 - INDIVIDUAL ITEM RRP £6.98
