Lolita Lorenzo is the design brainchild ofCarol Muthiga. A Kenyan-American artist
and designer, Muthiga is inspired by richcolor palettes, vivid patterns found in the
textile markets of her birth country, numerology, naturally occurring geometry, and
modern fashion houses like Chanel and Vogue. Her collages often depict versions of
what she calls an “intergalactic Afrofuturistic time-traveling woman warrior.” Modernday heroines and Black cultural icons are also prominently featured in her works. The
radically empowering, female-centric creations in this calendar create a fully immersive
